Salutations,
I'm working on a ZV5 stand-alone power supply and I have a layout question regarding the inductors. Is coil placement and orientation critical in a stand-alone implementation? ?... somewhat critical? Are there any good rules of thumb to live by? Thank you, 7/10 |

I don't have too much advice to offer...
But I built the amp exact as designed (bobo Zen V5), but for the power supply, I chose to experiment a little...as I didn't have all the required parts I am actually using two 19VDC, 3.2A Laptop Switch Mode Power Supplies per channel (4 laptop power supplies total for 2 channels) feeding a pair of two 10,000uF caps/channel. Sound seems clear and good. Nice compact build. I guess if the power supply is clean and stable, try it.

Keep the coils away from the input circuit.
