Michele,
One of the best choices!! Lucky Guy Did you take a look at the http://www.stereophile.com/floorloud...bw/index4.html Impedance: 4 to 16 Ohms For me A pure class A 160 Watts/ch amplifier is the same as a 300Watts/ch class AB amplifier. Running a little hot, but all you ever dreamed of! Regards. Alain, a Pass Fan...

I 've compared XA160 and X250.5 B&W 802D. For my hears the X250.5 is the best choice : better sound stage, better dynamics...

Being that the B&W's are relatively current hungry, I think you would
be better off with the earlier X Class AB designs, the X.5 designs, or the XA.5 designs. |

Thank you Mr Pass, I think X600.5 is the right choise. I'd like to know something more about it and the differences with the old X600.

Room size is 14 x 16 Ft (dedicated room). Music is Classical, Acoustic Jazz, some 60s, 70s & 80s rock. Don't listen as obscene levels. Like my music with a touch of warmth..... And a huge soundstage with realistic width & depth. Cheers! arup |

Either would do the job. Personally, the XA100.5

Hi Nelson
Here's a question purely for academic reasons to a designer of some of the greatest amps For a speaker like B&W 800D, what would be your best choice from the choices below: 1. Using a pair of X600.5 in bi-wire 2. Using a pair of XA160.5 in bi-wire 3. Using a pair of X350.5 in vertical bi-amp. Further, would you say a pair of XA100.5 images & soundstages better than the stereo amp X350.5? Would really appreciate to hear from you. Arup |
