Hi
I need some advice on the maximum length of the signal leads for a pair of Aleph 4's. I know that they should be as short as possible, however due to limited space I would like to know what would be the maximum length that would not effect the performance? What problems may arise if they were too long? Thank you for your time Cheers Greg

Just to clarify:
The signal leads from the main board to the fet boards. cheers

Usually you can get away with a foot or so without problems.

Just make sure the Gate stopper resistor (the 221 Ohm resistor in series with each output MOSFET's Gate) is on the far end, close to the output device.

Thank you both for your help
The 221 Ohm resistor in series with each output MOSFET's Gate is on the output boards next to the mosfets ( very close ). Will the length towards 10 inches degrade the sound? Cheers Greg

I consider the length as a part of interconnect line. I would try different lengths of interconnect lines to learn about the different sound. In general, I do not feel any sound difference when I tried different interconnect line lengths (0.5m-3m). |

sorry, perhaps I missed it due to the NP server crash. Could someone direct me to the F4 schematic? I am eXperimenting with a 1-10Mohm impedance converter for my FMMPX project. Tube tuners want a -wide- load.

Grey;
Many thanks. Attached is the circuit I have been playing with to convert from tube tuners to a 50k ohm input impedance on the circuit I'm using for FMMPX mono to stereo conversion Bob |
