Getting very close to putting my Aleph 5 together now; boards are made up, heatsinks are on order, etc. Since I only want to put this together once, i.e. no serious tweaking afterwards, I have put all the usual upgraded parts in already (Black Gate, Dale resistors).
Just looked at the boards again and I’m wondering whether I should replace the 0.047uF cap (Rifa PHE426 polypropylene at present) with something more exotic. I’m also looking for some hook-up wire, single strand, preferably OFC or silver, one wire gauge for signal hook-up, and then something heavier for hooking up the speaker terminals. Can’t see anything suitable from my usual catalogue sources. I would prefer a UK source but will consider other sources if the shipping isn’t too high. Any suggestions /recommendations? Cheers Paul |
