MY UPDATE: well the BOSOZ is working
it's playing some Tom Petty in the other room as i type this. when i get it in a case i'll post some pics. thanks for everyone's help and a big Thank You! to Mr. Pass for taking the time and effort to offer such a great project. i'm pretty jazzed right now, and am ready to start work on my SOZ now m. |

Ok all the problems with my friend's project are fixed.
I've found that the IRF-9610 mosfet was killed during my friend's sneeze attack. The mysterious source voltage drop was due to BAD SOLDERING and wire stripping. Apparently my friend that did ALL of the soldering had many weak points, also points that looked like solid solders, the wire itself was weak (holding by a single strand maybe). BQ

That must have been one WET sneeze!!! when i fire things up for the first time i always wear eye protection... maybe i'll add a mask in the future, cause i sneeze a lot i'm working on getting an enclosure together for my BOSOZ... post any pics of this new one you're helping your friend with? good luck, m. |
