hello all
i have rectifier MUR 820G 8A/200V http://www.onsemi.com/PowerSolutions...t.do?id=MUR820 and HFA08TB60 hexfred 8A/600V http://www.irf.com/product-info/data.../hfa08tb60.pdf can i use them in bridge rectifier for an aleph 5 and for an aleph 3 for the aleph 5 i use toroidals from nuvotem 2x25v 300va in dual mono configuration the output current of 25vac is 6A i want to use only one bridge rectifier per channel |

yes; iin first case you'll have 16A/400V Graetz and in second case 16A/1200V Graetz bridge

Inrush current at turn-on is the problem, not normal operational currents. You might want to consider something rated a bit higher in the current department.

when i watched the hexfred's datasheet
i can see single pulse forward current =60A maximum repetitive forward current =24A inrush current at turn-on is it too high for this rectifiers ? |

Hi,
try the PSU Designer . If yo use a big tranny and big capacitor bank, 60A single pulse can be to less. With a big toroid and huge caps the first charging impulse can go up to 300A. It can be necessary to use a small value, high power resistor (~0,2Ohm/10W) in series with the rectifier to reduce the incrush current. I hope it helps. Best Regards, Adam
