To have a jfet output with more power?

But its not a jfet output, its still an irdf240 output isnt it? Wouldnt it be easier to replace the IRFP240 with LU1014D?

It's a cascode; in theory, the jfet controls the sonic signature.

Ah I see, thanks for that. Is it the case in practice or have you not built it yet?

It was more of a mental exercise and a chance to chat with the boys.

I will fabricate the Aleph J before exploring further, and since I'm laid off due to our bad economy, I can only dream--for the time being, anyway.

Thanks, I'm studying to pass my CCB test so that I can become a licensed contractor in Oregon. Hard test of personal desire--course and state exam have tons of details (I think that's the technical term) regarding contract laws and regulations.

my contract expired recently and I used my downtime to study, it helps you feel employed and also land the next job
Fortunately I found work quickly so I start my new job on Wednesday.

I would however like to build you amp one day, along with 30 other nice amps on this forum.
