Looking for updated A40 schematic.

I understand that there was an article in the Audio Amateur that presented an update the A40. It would have been in the late '80's or early '90's. I am not referring to the A75.

I am trying to determine 1) which back issues to order from AudioXpress and 2) if the article really is relevant. It would be nice to see a schematic before spending any money.

Thank you gpsmithii. I think it was that 6 part article I was looking for. Unfortunately it's right in the area where my collection of AA's and AX's has a hole. Would you know of a place where the schematic is available on-line? I would like to preview it before buying 6 back issues.

Hi,

I have read the a40 original document and saw that the damping factor stated at near the value of 300 . It looks quite high. it shouldn't be this much because of output resistor values which are 0.68 ohm . In theory it should be near 50 .

( 0.68 / 4 = 0.17 ) , Damping factor at 8 ohms = 8 / 0.17 = 47

Is there anybody can explain this ?
