This is probabily a doomed question but....
the majority of the signal generators out are single ended...which means that they only have one output.
speaking of balance circuitry......if you have a signal generator with the above characteristics......it is true that it's possible to shoten the in(-) and evaluate the topology just as a single ended one.....
But.... what if i would like to have an input differential signal test and test the entire topolgy?
Is it convenient to transform somehow the signal into a differential version?
How do you guys generally do to test , let's say, a differential preamplifier or power amp?

Simplest solution is to get yourself a DRV134 chip and 4 9V-batteries. Within half an hour of soldering, you have a balanced driver for single ended signals.
Not for listening music, but good enough for test signals.

Just Google and download the datasheet. There is a standard circuit.
I presume you have a normal, ground referenced signal generator in the first place.
