Default Lot of help please

I want to build my own amplifier and need a lot of guidance. I have two NEC 2sd218-2 L36b and two NEC 2sa649 L374 transistors in an onkyo integrated amplifier (as well as a slew of capacitors, resistors and other transistors) a transformer with +/- 42 13 and 5.5 volt outputs as well as commons for the mentioned. What I would like to do is make a class a or a/b amplifier out of the parts I have(I also have an Akia receiver I can salvage parts from) I can read schmatics just don't know where to start. any help would be great

Thanks,
dude

Given that class A puts a lot of demand on parts, I don't think this is going to work well. You'd be a lot better off starting from scratch. Yes, I know it will cost some money, but the route you've chosen will be very, very expensive in the long run. You'll blow the parts you have, replace them, blow those, then finally start from scratch. Better to skip to the final phase and skip the intermediate steps. At least that way you'll have music to listen to while you assemble the "real" amplifier.

I agree with Grey, the normal suggestion is to head over to Pass DIY to read about the Zen amplifiers and the articles.

If you want a 'quickie' into to amp building I'd go for a chip amp, sometimes called a gainclone. there's a chip amp forum here and kits can be had at places like http://chipamp.com
