F3 anyone?

I see that Nelson has published the service manual for the First Watt F3, complete with PCB layouts. Has anyone tried building one? I've only built tube amps in the past but this 15-watt JFET design looks pretty sweet to me.

Did you really miss both group buys? About 1000 pcbs were bought in total...

There is also the F4 Group Buy as well. This is a 25 watt/8 ohm or 50 watt/4 ohm amplifier. Its however best described as an impedance buffer and therefore needs a preamp ahead of it of adequate gain (10 to 20 dB) depending on your speaker requirements. I just purchased some F4 PCB's and power supply from Peter and the layout is exceptional. Peter actually uses the F3 design on for the MT portion of his big main speakers at home.

Both are excellent, like chocolate and strawberry.

Above all, have fun! Oh and before I forget, Landoctor is selling matched MOSFETS as well. That link is here.
