....Are the PCB files posted the final versions? Or do they need some changes?.....
Mark,

They are doing some rework regarding the layout. It will be posted before the new year. Along with hopefully a group buy

Look at post 93, 94 and 95.

I already told you - read SUSY papers

Default Thanks for the info!

Thank you for your reply David.

It looks like I will have to exercise some more patience!

I had the impression that the rework of the PCB was because a different group look up the challenge of making a new board.

I read the paper a long time ago. It does not address my question. If you are not able or not willing to answer, then do not bother replying.

And my question now : why would you do so ?
Have a look at http://psykok.homelinux.org/diy/prea...les%20nuls.pdf
Sorry, it's in french, but equations and drawings should be self-explaining...

Wish someone would translate that writing to Danish (or maybe better English )

I took the time to build the seriesreg supplies and took the preamp apart to install them. The seriesreg sounds great and doesnt leave much to the advantage of the shuntregs. Actually the seriesreg sounds better than expected. Ofcourse you cant expect anything for real. Without building and listening you wont know for sure, and that was confirmed again here. The shuntreg didnt have as much impact on the UGS preamp as I have experienced with many other circuits. I still prefer the shuntreg's, but it is with a small margin. The sound is a bit more direct and unveiled with the shunt. I bet this will be a matter of taste, if one prefers the one over the other. Both are very very good, with that little edge to the shuntreg.
Hope this is helpful for someone, it took a hell of a time
Attached is a pic of the UGS preamp, sporting the seriesreg's in a dirty setup.

I wish I could ... because it is a very nice paper indeed ... but I would have to learn english (or danish) first and it would take to much time ...

Thanks Steen for interesting report about shunt- and series-reg
