Default ZTX450 Alternative from the BC... range?

Hi Everyone,

Is there any way to use a BC... range transistor instead of the ZTX450 that Nelson use for the Aleph5?
It is imposible to find any in the local stores.

Thanks

Hi, konstantin

I can't see the ZTX450 in the Aleph5 schematic. Mr. Pass used it in the Zen-projects.
BC 337A, BC 637, BC 639, 2SD1207 will do. I think the ZTX450 was not that important. MPSA18 or substitutes BC 184, BC 413..414, BC 550, 2SC3112..13 will also do the trick.

Default BC v.s ZTX

Agaphte Kostantine,

I used BC550c but you may need to adjust the bias manually and maybe the current gain as BC range got higher hfe than ZTX450 and MPSA18, But I have done it with BC and works perfectly after the necessary adjustments, for any additional info contact me at my email.

Default Citation 12 (slightly off topic)

Hello guys,

I stripped the circuitboards of a Citation 12 but I'm still looking for some of the parts.
Does anyone of you have an idea regarding substitutions for:
MPSL01
MPSL51
IRF100 --> although I thought this part is not very critical any Mosfet which meets the specs (or betters them) is alright, is this true?

Thanks,

Jarno.

???

I would use any NPN transistor that satisfies two conditions:

(1) Base-Emitter on voltage = about 0.66V at normal operating temperature
(2) Maximum ratings with respect to voltages and current to be suitable for the amp

I think you can safely use the ZTX450 and 550 parts.
As to the IRF100, a wide variety of IR parts from 100 to 250
will work as far as I know. IRF140 is just about ideal.
