Default Heatsink source

Hi,

I'm gathering parts for my futur Aleph 5. I thought that I have enough heatsink (3 x 16''x5½''x1¼'' for one channel)... until I try to plot heat rise (you can see the attach file), I dissipate 75.58W (with 12 x 125ohm 10w resistor) and I check the temp with a precision LM35DH. So obviously I need new heat sink, I check with Conrad (AU) they have nice MF35-151.5 (http://www.conradheatsinks.com/produ..._350.html#MF35) but they would charge me 120$ to ship it to Canada... So is there a manufaturer that I can but some big enough heatsink from them, idealy in Province of Québec if not, in Canada or USA. Thank a lot

There's also R-theta, located west of Toronto:

for stereo aleph 5 he could use 3 of these nice gold ones per channel, all 3 strapped together and then another 3 on the other side for the other channel. This would work really well.

Many of us have purchased heatsinks from R-theta as
a part of a group buy. I'm pretty sure that sell to individuals,
but you will need to contact them regarding minimal order
and tooling charges. There's also often some quantity
discount. And this is where a group buy is handy.

I'm actually surprised at the shipping cost for the Conrad
heat sinks. I had seen some Conrad heat sink group buys
and had assume that shipping was reasonable.

Cheers,
Dennis

''Costs in AUD (CAD approx.) with a choice of delivery options would be:
MF35-151.5 x 4 @ 53.36 ea. 213.44 (=194.15)

Delivery (Aus. Post Sea Freight 10 - 12 weeks) 44.32 (40.32)
Delivery (Aus. Post Standard Air 7-12 working days) 119.47 (108.68)
Delivery (FedEx 3-4 days) 140.00 (127.35)''

Yeah, 40$ is resonable but its 10-12 weeks...

I bought a pair of big heatsinks from Conrad (aus) some time ago and even though I chosed airmail it came out much cheaper than buying something similar locally. Really nice heatsinks, too!

I ordered 4 of the Conrad heatsinks you mention above in a group order about a year ago, and paid for the "Sea Freight". They arrived in Raleigh, NC in about two to three weeks. They had an "EconomyAir" sticker on it, so it still went by air mail and not a "slow boat".
