Hi,
I want to build 2x monoblock aleph5, in spec it's said that the power consumption is 300W, is it 300W for a stereo amp or 300W per channel? Where to physicly put both thermistor ? Does TH2 must be stick to the toroidal tranny ? For the LED, is it a good old small red one ? Thank for your reply ! |

If 300W came off the stock Aleph 5 spec sheet, that is for stereo power consumption as the original design was in a stereo chassis.
TH1 acts as current surge limiter at power up when the PS caps charge up from 0V. Directly soldered to one leg of the Thermostatic switch is a good idea. Make the wire connecting TH2 as short as possible and positioned as close as possible at the Earth terminal of your AC plug. For LED it is blue in the Pass Labs products but is not mandatory...whichever looks to you.
