Hi

I ve heard that inductors are powerful devices to get a good PSU. I m currently trying to gather the parts for a SOZ (or XSOZ) with 2*10W output (2*18V tranformers).

The problem is that I dont know anything about inductors. I guess 2.2 mH would be a good guess, but what about the resistance ? the lower the better ... ?

I ve found these inductors :
http://www.thel-audioworld.de/bauteile/cfc/cfc.htm

Would it be OK for a SOZ ? Which wire diameter shall I choose ? I guess it depends on the intensity that will go through the coil.

Also if you know another supplier of inductors in France or Germany, please share yourknowledge.

Thanks for your help,

was a great metal band, unfortunately they split a couple of
years ago!:bawling: :bawling: :bawling:

BTW with that exchange between EUROS and USD I buy
everything in the US (internet)
All those inductors in the web are xover parts, not intended
for PSU use. the Hammond parts are reliable and not expensive
eg: 10mH 5A DC continuous current about 18,-Euros.
Normally the current ratings for Xover coils are for AC current RMS
not DC. DC just heats them up till they burn down the isolation.
In case of metallic core inductors they must have an air gap in
the core otherwise you magnetically saturate the core -> heat ->
isolation breaks -> shortcut -> no inductance -> wasted money!
