Default balanced operation of an aleph 1.7

Is this how balanced operation works?

rca input -> balanced attenuator (with + and - output) -> respective + and - input of the aleph -> xlr output

Is this right?

Thank for the help

rca input is unbalanced

balanced looks like this:

bal XLR in-bal atten-bal input on active pcb - bal XLR output

if you mean to use 1.7 as NP constructed it, you must put bal atten on output of active preamp pcb, before output XLR........................not on input

btw
search for "rane note 110"

ps. it will be certainly more on topic that you try to read few books before asking so basic questions .
you can't expect from ppl that they learn basic stuff instead of you.

it isn't matter of someone's laziness to answer you or not ; one day you'll make greenhorn mistake........ and with all electricity involved ...... you must know what you are doing .

been there ........

well you mentioned XLR in and I saw that as well in the service manual for 1.7.

I didn't know that the CD player must have balanced outputs as well so I can used a balanced preamp and amp.

Some circuits can function as a phase splitter, taking an unbalanced input signal and giving a balanced output signal.
