Thanks very much for the boards.
the quality is much appreciated.

What is min. watt rating for R-43,44,70,71

Hello Mike.
I have put in 2 Watt Metalloxid Resistors in my PCB-Board.

Another question for the PCB-Board. As i have seen on Peters
Photos there are no heatsinks on the MOSFETs. right ?
On a photo in the "Audio" magazine 11/2002 i have also not seen any heatsinks for the MOSFETs. Only on for the voltage regulators
(7815 on the PCB-Layout is written)

The MOSFETS on the ono boards do not need heatsinks, they get warm, but not hot, and I think this is intended by design. The original ONO has no heatsinks. I run my power supply MOSFETS without heatsinks, too, but there is room on the board to use them. If You use separate power supplies for both channels, there is absolutely no need for them. And You do not put R70A and R43A on the PS PCB then.
For these I used 2W types, but 1W should be fine.

Because of limited time at the moment, I will check this forum not on a daily base, so I ask everyone to answer questions, too.

Ground Questions

[I have see on the CircuitLayout on the AC-Jacket a Symbol
which is named with CL60 TH1. I could not find the Symbol in
my Handbook (which has a tabel of the German "DIN" Norm
Symbols). Could somebody answer me for what stand this
symbol

Second. R19 is serial to K1:A right ? i want to calculate the
value for a 24 Volt Relais.

Which wires for internal connections have the others used
(i think to use some Kimber 4PR-cables )

I can answer your first question.

The CL60 is a Thermistor. I don't have the schematic in front of me, but if it's connected to the ground lead of the AC jack, then this serves to isolate the circuit ground from chassis (earth) ground for less noise. In its normal state it is about 10 ohms. If a fault (short) occurs and current begins to flow through this path to earth, then it heats up and resistance drops to some very low value.

I dragged out the schematic. I can't see R19. At least it doesn't seem to be associated with the relay.

Thanks very much. I have think of a thermistor but the symbol
is not the same as here in Germany (We have here Standards
for the Symbol of Elektronik Devices that is shown different
from that of the Circuit sheme).

I dragged out the schematic. I can't see R19. At least it doesn't seem to be associated with the relay.
The Resistor is not in the original sheme but its on the Layout
of PQuadrats PCBs due for different Relay Voltages (12, 24 Volt
etc..). I have looked on the PCB.

filter cap

I just read the Xono manual and they talk of 120.000mF filtering stages the ono has about 15.000mF channel, Where did they put all the rest mF?
for sure the 3300mf caps in the phono boards are much bigger in the Xono, from the picture they look to be at least 10.000mf each.
Maybe I put just the caps as Qruadrat schematics and then add more in future.

Relay substitution

Although it is not too hard to make an adapter board for just about any relay, it would be nice to use the relay that the board was designed for (Meder DIL24-2C90-63L)
Does anyone know where to get this relay in the United States, or of another relay with identical pinout?

Thanks,

mirlo

Ok i have nearly finished my Aleph Ono
Boards. Here are a Picture from one
Channel-Board with my Webcam.
I hope you can see the parts.

Sorry i have forgotten to add:

I habe some parts left and i will make
a Partlist next week in TXT-Form.
If someone lives nearby Munich he can
of course ask me for this Part-list.
These are mainly the Panasonic FCs
Caps, Some OsCON SH for the smaller
caps.
Some SIMIC for 2,7 nF , WIMA
FKP2,
and the semiconductors
2SK170,2SC1844 and IRFD9110
