Hi, I just want to clarify the concept of the 256 steps attenuator used in the ALEPH P1.7 preamp.
- Is it the shunt type?
- Comparing to other generic potentiometers like ALPS or NOBLE, it looks like this 256 steps attenuator has lower input resistance. Is it true that its lower input resistance may cause some load problem for CD players or D/A if we put it in front of the preamp section?
Thank you.

Excuse me ...
Nelson,
Pardon your French?
If I'm not wrong I the attenuator in the Aleph P 1.7 is a ladder type instead of a shunt type. I have read this in the Pass service manual.
