Default A question of “appropriateness”

I was just about to put a post on this site regarding a PCB layout for an ALEPH P.1.7 preamplifier, but I have stopped myself, just in case my actions are inappropriate.

Let me explain.

Not to long ago, I purchased a readily available PCB for this preamplifier in dual channel, single PCB configuration.

Whilst the board was well made etc, it unfortunately was too small to suit the components that I wished to use, and already had. (Mostly passive devices).

I have “redesigned” the board for single channel configuration, allowed far more room for larger components and made changes to the layout with respect to the connecting wiring / input output connectors.

However the board generally looks the same, looking a one channel only.

I wanted to post here it to show others, and offer the layout freely to anyone who wants it.

In view of the fact that it started as a PCB sold by another individual, am I out of order?

Regards,
George.

Why don't you ask permission from the PCB source in question? They might surprise you and say yes.

Hi and thanks for your suggestion.

I will ask his permission.

I actually fee a bit silly for not thinking of the obvious.

I have sent an email to the original layout designer, and hope he does not mind allowing me to share my alternate layout.

Regards,
George.
