hello everyone,
i almost finished my aleph p1.7 preamp. I realized it with veterans boards and twistedpear stuff, what both was a pleasure to work with. I is my first flight in electronics beside a simple crossover and the lights of my bicycle. The problem now: How to connect the ground of the board with the ground of the main 220V grid? the rca plugs are isolated from chassis. Not even the chassis (metal) is still connected to ground. As far as I know the different grounds shoud meet at one point (and what grouds exactly). Or do i just connect the star-ground-point of the amp-board connect to chassis and chassis to main grid? besides the problems: it already improved the sound (in musicality, stage and dynamics) in my system. kind regards to Mr. Pass, his crew, veteran, also holger barske whose page gave the initial link to the boards and to all of the guys that helped answering my newbee questions. crews

You can have a look at my homepage. Here I describe the building of my Aleph P and my Aleph Ono. In both projects you find an answer to your question.
German side : http://www.r-stens.de/diy/diy.php and the same in English : http://www.r-stens.de/diy/diy_en.php Regards Ralph |

it's a nice website thought! I like how you make your prototype. Just one curiousity: When you make the board for the prototype, how do you do? Do you use the photoprinting method? (with UV bulb photoresist and acid) If so...i would like to know, if possible, the type of board that you use for those prototypes ...are not normal copper? becaue they are shiny like silver or something...at least from the picture they don't look like copper. am i wrong?
