Hi folks,
after I red many threads on Pass diy, I decided (thanks Taeke and Jurgen, you convinced me...) to build a preamp myself. My idea it's for a most simple possible project... I think to realize a preamp with only one line input for best quality possible. Which Pass project could I use? How could semplify it for obtain only one line input? Thanks for suggestions and have a fine weekend, Nino |

Do you want to go passive or active?
Obviously passive is much much simpler but it's all down to personal preference. What is this preamp feeding? |

I've an ARC D115 2x115 W tubes amp.
But I should like build a polyvalent preamp which works well with tubes and SS (I think I'll realize in a short future also a diy Pass/power...) Greets, Nino |

Well, I'm a bit confused how, I think, all you when started your diy approaching.
I've received some suggestions: Aleph P, Boz, Bosoz, X-Bosoz, X-Pre from TwistedPear... Who'll be so kind to explain to me differences between them? Wich is best in sound quality? Maybe Aleph... but is it more difficult to build than others? And then, what are exact differences etween Boz and Bosoz?... When I'll decide which plan to realize, many many many other questions will arrive... Thanks & cheers, Nino |

If you expected a single answer, you were bound to be disappointed.
Without knowing how comfortable you are with a soldering iron, it's difficult for anyone to give you a reasonable answer. One man's simple is another man's nightmare of complexity. All things being equal, perhaps a BOSOZ would be a good choice. It's not terribly complicated and gives you at least the option of balanced outputs, should you decide that you want to go that route. Thanks Grey,
I don't need balanced output; is this the difference between Boz and Bosoz? Nino |
