Default Significance of CEO?

I think I get the concept of hFE, but what does CEO refer to, and what is the significance of I CEO in transistor testing?

Thanks.

CEO stand for Collector, Emitter, Open. When a spec is given for a transistor, say max collector to emitter voltage, CEO would indicate that the test voltage was applied between the collector and emitter, with the base connection left open, or disconnected.
