Default Rub On Letter Sources.

Hi all,

Looking for a source, preferably Canadian, of rub on letters (small), like RS used to have a long time ago for PCB and chassis marking.

I've phoned/checked locally and found:

- Art stores don't have them under 1" high
- Craft stores don't have them in anything but "Barbie" fonts
- Scrapbooking stores only have "ransom note" fonts that are HUGE
- Drafting stores dropped them in favor of label makers
- Stationary stores... same 1" high fonts

Found places in the UK/EU that carry them, but I am not paying 20GBP shipping for a 2GBP sheet of letters. No.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Parts Express have some that are made up into suitable words as well as letters.

Part 340-172 for black.

Dry transfers:

http://www.oselectronics.com/ose_p52.htm

$5 a set. Problem with Parts Express is for us here in Canada is the UPS brokerage fee at the border. Not worth it to pay an extra $40...

oops, didn't notice on the bottom of page saying UPS ground in continental US only. Sorry.

oops again, they do ship to Canada:
"When we do ship outside of the United States, we ship by Air Mail or UPS ground to Canada and Global Express Mail or Federal Express abroad. The fee for Canada shipping starts at $25.00 and may vary according to the weight of the package."

I'd call first.

You might also check hobby stores that carry train/modelling supplies for something like this:

You can also make your own decals using toner-transfer paper and acrylic lacquer.
