Where in Europe do you buy your 2SC5200-O and 2SA1943-O for AAK's Symasym boards ?

As far as I know, these are sold by :

BMM at Euro 2,20, for 10+ -- original Toshiba and not the –O no more answers to email.
Cricklewood Electronics at £3, for 1+ original Toshiba
Digikey at 1,53 Euro, for 10+, original Toshiba, -O
Profusion plc at Euro 1,571 for 10+, -O and maybe Toshiba
Reichelt at Euro 1,40 for 1+, no information available.

As Digikey is here expensive, I want to get the transistors from Profusion plc, if possible. Have you any information about them and about what they sell ?

Kessler-electronic also has them and a lot more of transistors... don't know which manufactorer... try to contact them and find out.

I have already the answer from Kessler (they are very fast !) :

Die Transistoren sind leider nicht von Toshiba (IEC).

(The transistors are unluckily not from Toshiba (IEC))

They did not give any other information, and did not answer to my other questions(about payment and HFE). So I can't buy anything from them.

Profusion is "maybe" Toshiba... Digikey does sell orginal Toshibas. Don't save money on the wrong side... Digikey is a confirmed source for original parts. That should be worth some extra .

I am not trying to save money. I am investigating with the help of people here about the possibility to a normal diyaudio member to buy at a normal medium cost what should be normally available here in Europe.

Profusion plc sells maybe original Toshiba’s transistors and they have got a mail from me about this. I will report later here what answer I have got from them - if any –

Hi all,

I have ordered some Toshiba transistors from Profusion Plc. I report that it is possible to buy small quantities as they said it in their last mail. In Europe I believe that we can get original transistors at a normal price at Profusion Plc.

Here is the relevant part of the email that I have got from the very friendly Mr Wolfgang Krause :

>> We do not have a min. order value for orders, but some times a min. quantity (2, 5, …). This depends on package size and / or price.

Some of our transistors (Exicon) will be used for repair power amplifiers, and we receive orders for 2 pcs, and we will proceed it.

Hi all,

I have got yesterday my Toshiba transistors. A very fast delivery indeed with no problem. The packing was so well done that it could be bombed without any damage.

The transistors look very good. As I wanted to know if they were fakes or not, I have performed a quick check on the first from each type that came in my hand. Find here my measurements :

The C is measured at 1kHz, 100mV. HFE is measured at 100mA and VCE = 5V.

- 2SA1943-O

CBE = 4,99 nF
CBC = 1,264 nF
HFE=97

- 2SC5200-O

CBE = 6,417 nF
CBC = 677 pF
HFE = 104

I am quite sure that these are true Toshiba – original transistors. It is thus possible to buy original transistors at a normal cost, with a very fast delivery – the fastest ever for me here in Italy -
