Are box capacitors as good or better than regular (dipped) ones? I see people talking about using them as bypass caps a lot, but are they good in signal apps too? I would assume they would be the same but I don't know for sure.

Hi,
The boxed ones will have a better resistance to mechanical abuse and perhaps water and contaminant ingress, but basically the quality of the cap is set by the coil that sits inside the box/dipping, eg. type of dielectric material, quality of the metallization, quality of the shoopage etc LV |
