2SA1249/2SC3117 and 2SC3421/2SA1358 are the transistors i was thinking of trying to interchange. the first pair came out of my 240 watt parts express sub amp which is the amp i'm trying to repair. the second pair, came out of my old rythmik audio 250 watt sub amp. i think, these are being used for drivers. i have looked at some of the data sheets for these but,i just don't feel comfortable enough to make a decision since i don't fully, understand the info on the data sheets. Thanks very much for any help!

2 SA 1249 :TV-NF-E, 180/160V, 1,5A, 10W, 120MHz
2SB649
2SC3117: TV-NF-E, 180/160V, 1,5A, 10W, 120MHz
2SD669
2SC3421: NF/HF/S-L, 120/120V, 1A, 10W, 120MHz
2SC3621, 2SD1684
2SA1358: NF-L, 120V, 1A, 10W, 120MHz
2SB1144, (2SA1178, 2SA1184, 2SA1220(A))
but better to take originals, search (google) may help

"transistors i was thinking of trying to interchange".. whats this,
you should test your transistors before buying new ones. Something difficult to write in english, have you ever tested the transistors B-C-E for shortcut. I could try to explain this, I would like to write in German because technical things are difficult to translate. Or write the failure and I say what to do. matti

b941

hallo matti6,

...excuse to all but its easier to discribe in nativelanguge...

Hi crippledchicken,
I have no clue what was decided, but you can't do what you intended. If you look at the C-E breakdown, the originals are rated at 160 V and your intended subs at 120V. So right there without looking any further you are stopped.

JVC M 7050

Hi Guys from Chris in New Zealand.

I have recently aquired a JVC M7050 and want to learn more about it.
I have the original service manual and schematic.
Apart from those beautiful meters what is it about this amp that makes it so special and or desirable?
Is it still a relevant piece of HI\i Fi?

Regards,

Chris

JFET input, very fast Fujitsu RET output devices, similar ones as used by Stax in their small Class A power amps.
Very good mechanical build quality, all aluminium chassis, chunky toroidal transformer.
Quality power amp if you can live with sliding bias, and an exceptional piece of work for those who'd like to rebuild a power amp.

JVC M 7050

Hi Jacco,
Yes I saw all the things you mentioned and thought it can't be too bad for its age.
I noticed the circuitry was quite interesting and what is it about the sliding bias that could be troublesome (my circuitry knowledge is a bit behind my enthusiasm):(
Apart from replacing the electrolytics and lamps is there anything else I should consider?

Cheers,

Chris
