Reposted from Car Audio. Suppose this is a more fitting place.
I was wondering if anyone out there would happen to have the datasheet for the AKM AK7720a DSP. Specifically interested in the data type, word length, and clocking method of the SDOUT on (I believe) pin 17. I have searched the net but only found reference to pinouts in a Clarion service manual that I ran across. AKM does not have the datasheet posted online, but I have attempted to contact them for a datasheet. I'm not holding my breath on that one. Thanks! |

Here is some more info, in case you would have missed it:

Thanks.
Thus far using the block diagram from the AK page and a schematic diagram from a service manual for a consumer product that uses this chip I have worked out that there should be a non-switched digital output from the DSP on pin 17. The DSP can either use its internal DACs (as it is in my case) or to use external DACs based on the state of internal switch configuration. According to the block diagram, however, Dout0 is not affected by that internal switch register. From what I can gather, it appears to be a PCM output. My hopes are to use this digital out to run an offboard DSP crossover/DAC over S/PDIF. Before forging ahead I was hoping to get a datasheet that shows 1) that this output should be available even if the primary DSP output path is to the onboard DACs and 2) the clock source and format of the digital data stream (L justified MSB first PCM?) so that I can build a suitable transmitter section for S/PDIF. Thus, the factory datasheet for the part would reeeeealy come in handy right about now. |
