If you're into parts scavaging like I am then this info's for you.
I came across several older UPS units that were about to be tossed out. I took them home curious just to see what electronics they might have inside. Not bad - contained about 30 MKT caps (box type) of differing values up to 1uf, quite a few MF resistors in both 1/4 and 1/2 watt sizes along with 4 heat sinks (2x2") that clip onto a transistor or small ic. Compaq was the name on the UPS but I believe they were actually APC units. I like FREE! |

Yes, APC (at least the older ones) are well build and have nice parts. High current input filter, mosfets, heatsinks, etc.
