The Alphas are not high quality pots, they would not be an upgrade to... well.... anything.

Thanks they look interesting. How big are the steps? I use my pre at lower levels usually, dont listen that loud.

Stepped with only 23 steps might be a problem without customizing the resistance curve. I would recommend either a TKD CP2501 pot (Percy Audio or PartsConnexion), or a Penny and Giles RF15 pot ($$$) http://www.pennyandgiles.com/product...&intIndustry=3, which will rival any stepped attenuator made (the P&G). At its price, it better
