CDM9/65 puck problem

Hi everyone.

I have just been given a Rotel RCD975 with a problem.

I can only play discs if I load the player and then turn the machine upside down. It seems like the puck is rubbing or catching and the motor can't turn the disc.

Anyone any ideas? The transport is cdm 9/65.

It may be a faulty spindle motor. If you find more evidence in that direction, try to replace the motor by a similar one, or try to *carefully* dismantle it by removing the bottom cover, then clean the brushes and the collector and then mount it again. You can also try turning the disc manually just after pressing play and see if that helps the motor to start.
