I bought a pair of these ostensibly Motorola transistors to replace one with broken legs in an Audire Model 2 amp. There are a number of differences that make me think the eBay seller might've sold me a pair of fakes.
Is there any easy way for an inexperienced hobbiest to tell, other than obvious differences in appearance? Thanks for any help! |

Looks older, but legit to me.
Though I can say that all of those Motorola things I have don't have tinned pins. |

They look Fine to me...Most of the Fakes I have seen have a Much smaller surface area than the originals so they will burn out more quickly as they can not disipate as Much heat but the Internal circuitry seems to be the same in Most of the fakes I have seen, you just have to use Larger heatsinks....
I think you should be Fine with those Transistors..... Cheers |
