Well if you are in Montreal, then you are in luck cause there is alot of retail outlets in town, but those who are not in Montreal can also order from them online.
This is my attempt to list want is available in Montreal from my experience: 1. Addisions - One of the largest and oldest electronic surplus houses in Canada and now they even have a website with online purchase and shipping too. They have tons of rare and off market stuff that goes for pennies. Lots of electrolytic caps such as Nicholson and ICC, wires, cables, plugs, jacks, speaker and tweeters at low low prices. Too bad their online catalog don't give detail description on the make etc... I can easily waste 2-3 hours there when I go visit ...like a kid in a candy store: http://www.addison-electronique.com/home.htm 2. Diverse-Vitesse Electronics - Another gold mine for heatsinks, wires and tooling at very affordable prices. http://www.diverseelectronics.com/ 3. Maddison Electronics: Another surplus house with alot of components, tooling , audiophile grade banana jacks, plugs, speakers and power supplies. http://www.ddoelectronique.com/english.html 4. Active - Future Electronics: On the expensive side, but usefull sometimes when you don't want to travel all around the city to get one little thing. Components, heatshrink, wires and tooling. http://www.active-tech.ca 5. Audiyo.com - Another DIY parts site. Not based in Montreal, but some of their partners/owners are. They are "the" north american distributor for Mundorf caps. It was quite a coincidence how I found them, rather a bit scary to say. One of my other passions is automotive paint detailing and one of their partners contacted me through a car forum for some detailing products 2 hours after I visited their site with his Audiyo email extension and I was like "wooh" ! http://www.audiyo.com/ 6. Parts Connexion - Another DIY audio components house, only down side is that you need to order $25us+ in order to avoid the $5 admin fee. http://www.partsconnexion.com/ |
