Possibly. Crank up the time base on the scope and see if you can resolve a waveform. If it's harmonics then it will likely not be that much higher in frequency. Harmonics will also change with the input frequency, wheras oscillation is unlikely to. However, I personally have never had a problem like this due to harmonic distortion, but there's always a first time! :)

I_Forgot: the scope definitly saw better days. But the line is sharp with the signal generator alone.
Yes, it has a 1khz test out, but it does not work :whazzat:

Something wrong? I guess this is true...

Funny thing is, it is quiet even with the inputs open. The oscillation theory seems valid, as the thing gets far too hot when any signal is present.
