Hi
I am starting to get the knack of KiCad but was wondering does anyone use the Hobbyist version of Eagle? Will it be as fully functioning as the other versions? John

If you search, there is plenty of info here both on Kicad and Eagle.

Hi,
Just in case you don't know, there is a very interesting script for eagle (which I also extended with more functionality) to convert eagle libraries (symbols and packages) into kicad. Download it here (the newest version includes my changes): ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/eagle/userfiles...kicad-0.9b.ulp For my own projects this combination is a killer. I like the trace highlighting in kicad A LOT more than in eagle and I think tracing is also easier. The best thing is, you don't have any restrictions on the PCB size Regards, Serge |
