I need values of at least 470uF 35v but preferably more, mainly for power supply in my cd player, thanks.

Hi there,
there is a uk seller on e-Bay for silmics http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4x-ELNA-ROS-SI...QQcmdZViewItem Limited values and voltages otherwise Digikey now sell them . Look for elna RFS series www.digikey.com. Why such a high voltage for a cd player? |

Brilliant, thanks for those links i'll check them out. High voltage for longer life, used for ps smoothing after toroid - it's what was all ready in but i think I'll try to find some larger uF's.

Or would Starget be a better choice, they're supposed to be a grade up from silmic?

Hi Thomo,
Stargets ROD series were actually at the bottom of the elna hierarchy. They are no longer made and seem to have been dropped by retailers, RS used to stock them. I personally like silmics for analogue circuits but I'm unsure of their merits in digital circuits. If these are the main smoothing caps before the various regulators Iwould try a low esr cap such as panasonic FC or FM series, widely available and cheap (RS or Farnell) or Rubyicon ZL or ZA. What are the values of the caps you are relacing and how many do you need? Khush |

I've bought these from audio-cube.nl (the Netherlands, not UK) in the past, paying with paypal. Service fine, though they are a bit lazy when it comes to sending an order confirmation.
