Default knife or cup socket

Hey All,

The magnoval sockets I've got have cup sockets and will accept the slightly thicker pins on the EL509 only with some initial coaxing. Once they've expanded they seem fine...

If you've tried both, which type of tube sockets do you prefer - knife socket or tube socket? Reasons..?

Thanks...

Knife.

I've had cup type get noisy in short order. I have some 50-year-old knife types that are still fine.
