I want to use Mills non inductive wirewound resistors on a DAC and tube stage PCBs. The throughholes are spaced about 1/2" (12.5mm) but the resistor body is 0.625" (16mm). Can I bend the leads back underneath the resistor to fit through the holes, or is this a bad idea...and hence be looking for a smaller part?
Use of resistors are for I/V conversion and high frequency filter in signal path.

Can you mount the resistor on its side and then bend the leads 90 degrees into their holes?

Unfortunately No. The body of the resistor is about 5/8" while the holes are probably 1/2" apart. I would need to bend the leads greater than 90 degrees...hence the body of the resistor would not be sitting flush on the pcb. Is this OK or should I look for a smaller part?

No problems in bending the leads more than 90 degrees to make your resistor fit

Thanks Jan, that's the feedback I was hoping to get!
