Default Are these Velleman speaker protection modules any good?

http://store.qkits.com/moreinfo.cfm/fk650

At 9$, it's certianly cheap enough...but what will it do to the signal quality?

Here's the more expensive version:

I purchase (2) K4700 protection modules and put them together.
I tested them and they work fine. Don't worry about any signal quality loss. When the relay latches up it completes the chain between the amplifier and the speaker(s). They are very quick to detect DC also.

I purchased mine for a Hybrid amplifier project.

I used the K4700 in my Krell KSA50 clone and it works fine. I'd changed the relay to a good quality and put it off the board. It will not affect the signal quality.

Default Modified

As I did not want relays in the wiring, I have modified them to be detectors only... with a LED to display fault.
