I got a fair amount of 2SA1302 and 2SC3182 transistor that all say Toshiba on them but some look different then other's and some have off centered holes in the black area on the back of the device.
How can I tell which ones are fake and which ones are real. I would like to keep the devices in working condition if posible and just root out the bad ones. Any ways to tell or test would be highly appreciated. Thanks Dave |

Would a list with production dates of transistors exist?
That would make it easier to eliminate fakes. I’m asking because I found a supplier selling e.g. a 2SB600 RoHs compliant. 2SB600 used to be made by Nec but is AFAIK discontinued. The nice thing is: Said supplier has plenty of –most likely discontinued- RoHs compliant devices. /Hugo |
