Default 9V from 2 AA cells

i've looked on google and could not find anything. anyone got a link to a small and simple circuit?

look at this national boost converter chip or similar

It can handle about half an amp load if thats enough.

i actually need the best efficiency i can get between 6v and 9v from 2 aa batteries. a 9v battery would be used normally.

Even using discretes is possible...I remember a circuit published in EDN "Ideas for design"....
