Default How can I make LED's falsh to the beat of my music?

ok, I've always been curious about how LED's flash to the beat of the music ever since I saw these nifty little mini component steroes.

How would I get the same effect that they give?

Or look for 'vu meter' and/or get the LM3915 & LM3916 datasheets.

to get behind what makes it work, you would need to look at a simple voltage comparator circuit like using an lm311

good example... http://www.electronics-lab.com/proje...004/index.html
