Anyone knows a good method for repairing small damages in black anodised heatsinks? I mean to make the damage black again (e.g. a scratch).
Permanent marker appears to leave a purple "haze" on the aluminium, or maybe you just need the right brand. Thanx Bakmeel

Maybe if you make it a bit more liquid, so that it wont leave a "layer" of paint on the aluminium... Thanx mike!

Hi,
Paints like enamel based auto touch-up will act as an insulating blanket and reduce efficiency far worse than the scratch. For cosmetic touchup, check out cold blueing for aluminum at a gun store. That stuff also doesn't kill heat dissipation properties, but increases it. Cheers! |
