Hi.
In the LM317 datasheet, it talks about using protection diodes (facing from output pin to input pin) when the output cap is more than 25uF. The suggested diode is 1N4002 which is quite common. My question now is: Can I use other dioes? I already have some ultrafast Onsemi (MUR1100) and wondering if I can use this instead. Thank you for the help |

You can, but it might waste the potential use of the diode for a more useful purpose.

thanks for the reply. I got plenty of the onsemis so it's more wasteful not to use them |
