Default Newbie searching for a Stereo, Dual, Pot

Hi,

I think I am searching for a "stacked" dual pot.

1) The purpose of the outer knob is to be a "trim knob" for the gain of a stereo, line level signal, in conjunction with two OPA627s. Up to 24dB of gain should be provided.

2) The purpose of the inner knob is to attenuate the output of the OPA627s down to nothing.

3) Each individual knob should be stereo.

Thanks for any thoughts! Again, I'm totally new at this so thanks for your patience!

you liklely need to find a volume control from/for and older quadraphonic design, but one that is 'split' into two stereo groups, where the two can be used together, or separately,as they are slightly 'friction fit'.

Is that what you need to do? I had found and bought about 8 different versions of such, as I was looking to make a shunt-design 'main' passive volume for a DCX2496. I bought them all at an electronics junk/closeout shop in downtown Toronto called 'Active Electronics' They had a bin full of them.

They are likely VERY easy to obtain off the net, except for one simple thing: Your search parameters will bring up tons of stuff that will obscure the very part you are looking for. Look for multi-sectioned volume pots, for example. plan on hours of looking, less if you are lucky, or even better, smart about the search parameter phrasing.

Or,....Find a shop like that in your local area, and start digging.

Thanks for your reply.

In the end I decided I wanted something a little easier to find replacements for (since it's to add an AUX channel to a scratch mixer) -- so I altered the design to use two (easy to find) 10k stereo pots instead.

Thanks again,
