Default Where to buy 1/4" jack socket???

Hi There,

I need some help of you guys (woman )..
I am building a headphone amp, and i want to use a good quality (high-end?) 1/4" (6.3mm) jack socket.

I have contacted several distributers, but no one could sell me one.

Does anybody know where i can buy these sockets, preferably in the netherlands, but anywhere in the world is oke.

Any tips/hints or links are welcome.

Thanks in advance

Roland

You might find a specific Manufacturer/model...then search and see if there is a dealer near you....

Thanks for the fast reply.

However i did find those kind of sockets myself, and these are in my opinion not high quality, but standard sockets.

I ment something like WBC, Cardas, so real high quality.

So any other suggestions?

You might have better luck with your question over at Head-fi.com, a strong DIY community devoted to quality head phones and associated equipment. You have to register to use their search engine.

Here's a link discussing this topic.

It seems as though there are few, if any good choices. Good Luck.

Have a look at the Neutrik NJ3 series. These are locking jacks with silver or gold contacts. Neutrik have great products with very reasonable pricing. The contact resistance is reasonable (6mOhm) tho bettered by something like an XLR. Don't be taken in too much by the audiophile hype - you can't overcome flaws in the basic physical design.

Both Mouser and Allied carry extensive stocks of these.
