Hi,
I'm new to this so please bear with me. A local man who advertises in HiFi World (Audio Specialists from Sutton-in-Ashfield) has had my CD player in for repair. It is the first time I have used the company for anything. He carries out modifications aswell, so while he had it I asked him to see what modifications could be done. He suggests: 40 replacement capacitors, 2 new op amps, 10 new diodes. Now I have no technical knowledge relating to this at all, but he assures me it would have sonic benefits. It intigues me as I have just read in HiFi+ that B&W spent a year listening to different capacitors and resistors for the Nautilus 800 Signature. The CD player is about 10 years old and the modifications would cost £90 all in. I thought maybe you guys would know more about this than anybody. thank you for any advice nak |
