Default Clamp Meters

Maplin here in the UK are doing the Velleman clamp meter DCM266L at half price special (9.99). Has anybody any experience of this meter?

Also, the meter is rated to measure AC current through the clamp jaws at 50-60Hz - will the meter likely be any good for picking up charging currents etc in power supplies?
