SCR or TRIAC?

I need to replace an SCR in a circuit (auto timing light) its a TO92 case so I was limited to what was available. Decided an equivalent was a Motorola BRY55-400 and this was available from my supplier The data sheet identifies it as a Silicon Controlled Rectifier yet when it arrived from the supplier it was invoiced as a TRIAC. What should I believe?

I would believe the datasheet over the invoice, but check the part to make sure.

Motorola says it's an SCR in their data sheet

so you should be OK.
Just out of curiosity, what was the part number of the failed one?
