Default DIY soldermask for home-etched PCBs

Here's a way to do it:

If you have Cadsoft Eagle, Photoshop, some T-shirt iron-ons, an iron, and an X-acto knife, it's a piece of cake.

1st, postscript print a picture of the vias and pads ONLY to a file - make it grayscale - solid and black, then load it into photoshop. Select all the area of the image that has the vias and pads, inverse the selection, and on a new layer, paintbucket any soldermask color you want INSIDE of the length and width of the actual board (to save ink). Then, print the image - only the colored paintbucket layer - onto a sheet of T-shirt iron-on. Cut out the shape of the board and wherever there is a pad and or via with the X-acto knife and place onto the pcboard. On a SAFE surface, iron on the colored part of the sheet onto the board. When done, enjoy your poor-mans soldermask!

you could also use an iron-on for a silkscreen effect.
